Pesha recently joined the directing faculty in the Department of Theater & Dance at University of California, Santa Barbara where she teaches advanced directing. To reach her directly email pesha@ucsb.edu.

Pesha earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Theater from New York University and is passionate about theater as a tool promote literacy and critical thinking. She has trained hundreds of teachers and students to use theater in the classroom to increase reading comprehension, inspire original storytelling and enhance self-esteem. Pesha designed the curriculum for LocalWRITES, a ten-week billingual playwriting program for teens offered free to California and Colorado middle schools. Since 2005, Pesha has worked with over 100 playwrights to develop their scripts for stage and production.
